We will start with understanding the world of PROGRAMMING and it's basics. In this introduction,we will cover :
- What is programming
- A brief history of programming
- How do I become a programmer and it's benefits
- Benefits of programming to technologists and the world
- Cost of becoming a programmer
WHAT IS PROGRAMMING:
PROGRAMMING is the process of using a set of instructions to make a machine perform a certain task. In the context of computers, it involves writing a set of instructions that tell a computer what to do. In simpler terms, it's like giving instructions to a robot to get it to perform a certain task. These set of instructions are written using a PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE. Want to know what a programming language is, that is the spirit of programmers-- curiosity! Programming to a layman is writing code but as you go further you will understand it's more than that.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF PROGRAMMING:
The first computer program, which was created by Ada Lovelace in 1843. Ada Lovelace worked with Charles Babbage, who is known as the "father of the computer" and invented the "analytical engine," which is considered to be the first general-purpose computer. Lovelace wrote instructions for the analytical engine, which is considered to be the first computer program. What she wrote was not in any programming language, it was an algorithm which is a step by step method of solving a particular problem. After the first computer program was written, people started developing computer languages, since writing in machine Language which was 0 and 1. was very difficult and not able to work on different computers for example a code written in Linux can't work in windows. This brought the need for an intermediate Language which could solve this basic problems - user friendly to the English language and Cross platform . The first high-level programming language was called "FORTRAN," which was developed in the 1950s and stood for "FORmula TRANslation." It was designed to make it easier for people to write programs. In the 1960s, other high-level programming languages like COBOL and BASIC were developed. These languages made it possible for more people to write programs, as they were less complex than FORTRAN.
HOW DO I BECOME A PROGRAMMER AND IT'S BENEFITS:
To become a programmer all you need to do is learn a programming language - anyone. Becoming a programmer is not owning a certificate and degrees in computer science or boot camps , even though they help you. Okay does attending a school makes you educated, the answer is NO!! It's the knowledge that makes you educated. Programming is a skill and knowledge it's not book and paper. If you want to become a pro programmer follow this blog 🧑💻 and stay Active and remember to join communities and group on social media like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and X😆.
LET'S LOOK AT THE BENEFITS OF BECOMING A PROGRAMMER:
- Programming is creative and lucrative
- Programming is high in demand and it's one of the highest paying jobs
- Programming doesn't end imagine since 1890 it's a skill that it's still needed
- Programming pays you for using free tools
- Programming makes you relevant in the tech field
- Programming can take you anywhere, yes you can work in any part of the world and even from your bed
- Programming has changed people's lives and it's still changing 😆 let's look at Mark Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs and yes Elon musk
BENEFITS OF PROGRAMMING TO THE TECH WORLD:
1.The tech scene is always changing and you might be the one creating the next big thing 💪
2.You do what you are passionate about while still earning
3.You always know you are part of a bigger team changing the world
